WHAT ELSE ????
Myself and Ron Wolford just got back from a great two weeks at IPMS Nationals and the Oshkosh Air Show.
Nats was a great time with a great contest and lots of amazing models. And of course, four days in the biggest hobby shop in the world! I will be catching up and posting pictures of some of the excellent models I came across on the contest tables. In addition to the inside convention, we enjoyed downtown Madison for long lunches walking around a beautiful downtown area. Our favorite eating establishment… The Tipsy Cow
And as for Oshkosh, for me it was a boyhood dream to get there some day. And this was the day. Two days on site. Monday was a clear and beautiful day, with lots of flying.
Fly-By’s with the B-29 “Doc”, a B-1 from Ellsworth (we are pretty sure), F-22, F-35, B-25,
P-51, F-16, and a Ford Tri-Motor giving rides throughout the day. And some aircraft I probably forgot.
The airshow in the afternoon was great. Heritage flight with an F-16 and P-51, and an A-10 demo show. Along with aerobatics from multiple aircraft, including a P-5.
And of course, being an industry trade show, there was everything aviation related.
On My Bench....
Well, that is currently under revision at the moment. Lol. I brought home some great kits that may see there way onto my bench sooner rather than later.
But one to finish soon, my 1/72 resin Loening float plane. On track for September to make its way up to Seattle for the Museum of Flight display on “Yellow Wings”.
